If I could keep this little pony for the rest of her life I would. This probably the hardest thing I have ever done and my daughter will be heartbroken. Fleur is a absolute Jem!
She is the perfect lead rein pony and 1st ridden and has proven to be repeatedly highly placed. She has taken my daughter from teeny tot, learning her 1st steps to 1st ridden and pony club rallies.
I brought Fleur as a 3 rising 4 year old for my 4 year old daughter. We broke her in together and my daughter and fleur have learnt so much together. She has done very well at local showing shows in the handful of shows we have got out to, pulling in red and blue rosettes all day long. Due to other restrictions and covid we have not been able to venture to county level, but she will hold her own in the show ring lead rein classes and with a more competent rider 1st ridden to hold her in an outline and push her forward. At home over this last year they have come off lead rein and are doing great, they have started getting out more and having ago at side saddle, fun rides, cross country, show jumping, pony club and vaulting. We have not rushed this little pony and taking our time. Fleur can up her game with a more competent rider or plod along with a tot.
She is the perfect childs pony. Easy to lead by children, groom for hours, safe to leave unattended with children, loads by a child, excellent on the ground in every way.
Fully vaccinated and up to date.
She recently had a close encounter with laminitus and a small splint appeared. But this was due to the recent hard ground (before all this rain) and being on a no winter turnout livery, then having access to grass too quickly. Previously she spent 3 years living out in a herd where she was never sick or sorry but proved to be the hardy mountain and moreland through ice, wind and rain.
She is now managed by soaked hay, shavings and muzzle. In a more regular yearly turnout facilities and a suitable grazing field and keeping a control on her weight she will be fine.
For her young age this little pony has so much more to give and I wish I could be with her all the way. I have crossed the T's and dotted the I's ensuring her education has been 2nd to none. She is impeccable on the lunge allowing you to move on with childs learning in the saddle, fully responsive to your voice. She will pop a small course of cross poles on her own but can have the odd stop or run out if the jumps start to go higher. But on lead will follow you over most things, enouth to teach your little one to jump. I am not selling her as a show jumping pony as this is not where her qualities lie. She is currently jumping 40cm but this requires a more competent rider in which my daughter has developed into over the 4 years she has been riding her. They recently went to a cross country training day where they enjoyed poping over the minimums course, splashing through the water jump and hopping down steps. They both grew with confidence as the day went on.
On lead rein she is a little star, she will walk trot and canter along side you and follow you anywhere.
She is bare foot and wears hoof boots of stony hard ground.
This little pony will not just go to anyone and to me she is priceless for what she has give my daughter. But unfortunately my daughter is out growing her quicker than I hoped.
I have valued this pony on what she has given my daughter and the reassurance a mother can have with putting their child on board, with also the quality she is.
