Ruby is a stunning 13 year old bay mare standing at 16hh who is a British Sports Horse Warmblood x Tb.
Apart from being a beautiful mare to look at she has a lovely calm nature and is a delight to handle and be around. Ruby is not mare ish at all and is happy with her current field friends who range in size and sex. She has no stable vices or quirks! And is very low maintenance. Easy to load, catch etc
To ride she is very responsive but not silly, aiming to please in all she does. A pleasure to hack, in company or alone, first or last. Hacks with a pub on route tend to be her favourite as she will happily stand around taking in the atmosphere and any attention she may get.
To school I find her to be very willing and never really asks any questions. Her school work still has room for improvement but being an older girl who likes to try her hardest sometimes she feels she knows best, so fab for someone wanting a steed with all the tricks such as walk to cater / flying changes, but still something you won’t easily get bored on when having lessons.
Recently we’ve been competing in a few unaffiliated dressage tests in which she scores around the 68% mark and even won once with very little practice prior to going. She doesn’t need riding everyday however can sometimes be a bit on the look out but never dangerous, a pat on the neck and a bit of reassurance and her focus is back.
Ruby can jump however we feel she would benefit from going more down the dressage route where she is happiest and not being taken on to have a jumping career. Obviously I’m sure she would love the odd sponsored ride / clear round to spice things up but not every other day!
We are looking for the very best partner for this gorgeous girl and would love to see her out competing and winning those ribbons! She would be ideal for a mother / daughter share or even an older lady just wanting to compete at dressage. She would affiliate for certain and do very well! Or failing this just a family horse where she will be hacked out and enjoyed with no pressure. She will not be suitable for a complete beginner as she can be sensitive when in the saddle and comes back to the rider for reassurance at times so needs a more confident, balanced rider.
She has also bred a beautiful foal in the past. She proved to be a wonderful mum.
To sum things up, she loves to be loved and we hope we can find someone new to do that loving! Please message for further info on our gorgeous Ruby
