Georgie is a dream of a pony and this is the heart breaking sale of a much loved family pet.
Georgie has excellent stable manners, while being cheeky without being naughty. She is one of the most honest ponies I have ever met and will give you her all - she has a way of letting you know what she wants and what she is thinking. She forms amazing bonds with her human and will always give you a whinny when you arrive to see her.
She is happy to hack alone or in company and will happily pop a jump. She is less keen on schooling but that’s partly my fault for using her mainly as a happy hacker. She has never bolted or made me feel unsafe, if unsure of anything (which is rare) she just stands still until she assesses it is safe to pass.
She is excellent with the vet, dentist, farrier, saddler and is up to date on all. She’s easy to catch and will often come trotting over to say hello.
She is my perfect pony and I fondly refer to her as an overgrown Labrador. The only reason I’m selling her is that I work full time and have a young family and I simply can’t give her the time she deserves.
She was diagnosed last year with mild EMS. The vet has advised and my own research has proven that with proper management of diet and exercise this can be reversed, and this is my downfall, I simply don’t have the time to exercise her. She has been out of work since Christmas (partly because I had her on box rest at the time due to the EMS) and I have not had the time to bring her back into work. As a result she needs her muscles building back up by someone who does have the time to invest (she will repay you for your efforts as she really is a gem). Until her muscle is built back up she does struggle with transitions and might throw in a little buck between trot and canter as a result but this will ease off as she gets fitter and stronger (I know this from bringing her back into work twice following a break after 2 pregnancies).
It’s also worth mentioning she can be a monkey to load. She’ll either walk straight in without an issue or take a while depending on what mood she’s in! Again this is partly my fault as I rarely take her out so she’s not used to loading.
Happy to answer any questions but this pony will not disappoint. 5 star home required (an excellent new home is a priority so please don’t be offended if I ask a lot of questions too ...Read full description
