Description

81.19 percent Arab

Our little Arab is looking for a new home, all 5 of our children have grown too big for him and he is wasted now in the field - only being hacked now and then or used as a lawn mower on granny’s garden!

13 yrs 14.1hh, owned by us since 6 months old. Great hack, schools really nicely - not a showjumper. Looking for teenager or small adult, for hacking or pony club activities type home. Good on lead rein and bareback. Can spook out hacking and occasionally schooling - doesn’t buck, rear, leap - just a sideways yeet and ???? at stuff, eg bird flying out of hedge.

Good in traffic and with big tractors etc. message me on WhatsApp for vids of him and loads more pictures.

Not complete novice ride off lead rein because of spook. No vices, lives in or out alone or in company - but would want him to have company around him as he’s a friendly chap!

Siblings were National champions at showing , we’ve only taken him to a couple of in hand shows, just for fun and he won.

He’s done xcountry hire, a tiny amount of very small showjumping at shows but more just fun jumping at home. Jumping is not something he’s cut out for, if you are looking for a competitive or even a school master jumper - Saxon isn’t the pony for you!

He’s done a tiny bit of dressage, his tests were fine but he was a bit scared of being in an indoor school, which he wasn’t used to! At home he would ride a lovely test - if dressage was something you wanted to try with him, I think with a few outings and practice he could settle into this job and have a fab time.

He will happily pop a log out hacking or play over jumps at home, but because he’s never really been taken out sj as we’ve had other horses bred for the job, he’s not seen all the fillers etc and is a bit old to be learning it all now.

He is a pony you can safely let your kids climb all over, easy and safe to catch and good in all ways to clip, shoe, groom, pull mane etc - absolutely no vices except for spooking when he is genuinely scared of things. This could be his shadow or his reflection in a puddle! Saying this, he is a good fun pony and we’ve had hours of fun galloping on stubble fields, going on bareback hacks, picking blackberries off his back…and doing all the things kids should do with their ponies!

At home he is more slow than go! If you dropped your reins out hacking he would stop to eat grass! I’ve hunted him and he converted into a Ferrari and wanted to be right at the front with the master with his head in the air like a snakey dragon!! I wouldn’t put a small child on him out hunting, but he could be fun for a capable small adult. He can sometimes be a bit snakey necked when galloping on open fields with a big group of horses if you tried to hold him back, but he’s very safe.

Open to any trainer or vet, this boy has low mileage and we ant the very best home for him. I will not sell him unseen, I want to meet the person who buys him!
