Palomino Miniature Shetland Gelding 14 years old

Archie is a very sweet and intelligent Miniature Shetland, registered with The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society. I bought Archie five years ago as a companion pony for my two warmbloods, who I have since lost. I have decided to give up horses, so have had to come to the hard decision to sell Archie.

14 years old and approx. 8.2 hh (I don't have a measuring stick small enough to know for certain!), Archie is a stunning little palomino pony. He is confident with horses of all sizes, loads happily into a lorry and will stand quietly all day, good to clip and good with the farrier. He is equally happy in the stable or in the field.

Archie is fully up to date with: farrier, teeth, vaccinations, worm egg counts (including blood test for tape worm in November), and sheath clean from a professional. He's been managed exactly the same as the big horses, with no expense spared. He is needle-shy, but with an experienced vet he's always been fine.

Archie has recently started lungeing, and he's coming on really nicely. He is very intelligent, progressing quickly with training, and enjoys polework and little jumps in the school, as well as being led out for walks, splashing through puddles and jumping fallen branches. He's quite the adventurer!

Archie has been broken, and was used in a riding school before I bought him, and I think he'd make a super lead rein pony. However he can be a bit whizzy and sharp so I wouldn't necessarily recommend him off the lead rein.

He is not an escape artist, although the electric fence does need to be switched on, and he is a very sweet little pony who wants to get it right.

Archie can be nervous around adults - he seems to find our height intimidating - and I believe he has been beaten in the past, so a kind home is sought for this special little boy. His only vice is that he can be tricky to catch, but we have a system that works perfectly and once he knows his routine there are no issues.
