Promise is a 16hh 13 year old Dutch warmblood, she is for loan due to no fault of her own I have unfortunately lost the passion for riding and competing, she thrives off her work and is way too fit, healthy and capable to be a field ornament and deserves all the love and attention I don’t have time to give her anymore. Promise is currently kept at a lovely yard in orsett essex with a huge outdoor school, indoor and some hacking on site.

Promise is a pleasure to own she is not mareish or horrible on the ground in the slightest, loves a fuss and a groom, kids walk her bareback from the field.

She needs a capable and confident rider who is soft in the hand but isn’t afraid to put her in her place.

Promise hasn’t been in much work so would need building back up, this won’t take long at all. She isn’t an easy horse to ride you have to know what buttons to press and when to press them, she will put up a fight on the flat but after 10 mins with the correct riding she goes like a dream. With some work, time and her fitness up she does a smashing dressage test and this was something she was doing really well in when she was in full work, always in the placings.

Jumping is what Promise loves and has scope to die for. I have jumped her up to 1.10 in competition and she’s flew over even bigger jumps at home. In competition promise isn’t a point and kick, she needs to be ridden properly as she can have her opinions and would need bringing back into the show environment with patience. She does NOT travel in a trailer. I can count on 1 hand the amount of poles she has had in the 4 years I’ve had and competed her and have never come home empty handed. I can’t stress enough that I don’t want someone to take her on who will jump every day of the week!!

Hacking she is fine alone or in company, maybe slightly more looky on her own but this is nothing a capable rider wouldn’t even think about.

In the past Promise has been known to rear, she has not done this for about 2 years but I won’t hide this from anyone as she is a horse and these things can happen at any time. They were not nasty rears, more when she was napping or excitable hops.

If the right person is found for promise I would still like to be involved as Promise is my heart horse and owes me nothing, this is an extremely hard decision. I have been a full loaner before so i know what annoying owners are like so this won’t be the case. I would still like to help where I can cover for holidays etc, come to watch at shows and still come and see her. If u want a full loan where the owner is completely absent then Promise isn’t for u.
