Gentle Giant. Safe & Splendid

Fun horse with lovely manners.

He was a Steward horse at Badminton Horse Trials this year so safe as houses.

Now juggling full time work with home schooling so very sadly Jet, our kind hearted chap deserves a new loving home with fellow geldings.

This is an ideal Fun ride, happy hacker or Hunter.

Jet loves fun!!! With hunting, he will adjust his pace to his jockey. Therefore if you are looking for strong and speedy he will ensure you have a cracking time but will also happily be a gentle giant nannying at the edge of the field.

Manners; Impeccable manners in hand. Our children feel safe when handling him.

Ideal jockey; He can look after novice riders and be ridden on the buckle, but his capabilities deserve so much more. At 16.3 he is a balanced ride and you feel safe with him beneath you. He is a lump of a horse so naturally requires a sensible jockey, however tempting, he is not a first ridden.

The jobs he loves; Hunting, hacking, fun rides.

Competitions; We and previous owners have not competed him at Dressage, SJ or Eventing so I can’t have an honest conversation about his capabilities in these disciplines.

Traffic; Bomb proof in traffic along busy main roads and narrow country lanes.

Travel; Loads and travels easily in a trailer and Lorry, on his own or in company. Never rudely pushing to get off and will happily stand for hours.

Clipping; My 14yr old daughter used him as her clipping guinea pig last winter when she was teaching herself to clip.

Farrier; Stands politely

Health; Fortunately has never been sick or sorry. We didn’t require a vetting because we knew him, his history and previous owner had a positive vetting. Open to potential buyer choosing to do so.

Previous owner; Jets previous owner is a retired gentleman and would welcome a conversation. Although Jet is 17yrs old he has surprisingly low mileage. He hunts each season to Beaufort and Dartmoor hounds and has always enjoyed Spring and Summers filled with hacking and Fun Rides.

Stabling; Jet is very relaxed to live outside with a field shelter or fall in line with a stabling routine. When stabled, we have always felt safe manoeuvring around him when rugging, skipping out, hoof picking and grooming. There is no “edge” to him.

Wardrobe; Bridle, very good quality “Ideal”saddle purchased specifically for him. He is low maintenance so a couple of season rugs.

Vice; Living in close proximity to mares does not work. This will create a napping issue. Jet does not nap back to his herd/field companion if a gelding. I’m happy to discuss this, but please don’t try and “make it work” This is his only vice so needs to be with fellow geldings.

Ideal home;Jet is used to living in both quiet tranquility and busy yards. Because of his lovely nature we want him to be part of a loving home or warm yard family.
