Excellent Project - Rolo 4 years old

Honest Advert!!

This is the hardest choice I have ever had to make.

Meet Rolo he was 4 years old in September 2023 and is 15.2/15.3hh with plenty of growing still left, very stocky horse.

He is an American Paint cross Dartmoor.

I have owned Rolo since he was 9 months old, he was a rescue but I nursed him back to health and started his groundwork. He has seen most things and is excellent in traffic and on the lead.

He has been long reined and lunged, was lightly backed for hacking 12 months ago, is proving to be fantastic under saddle, and will go far in the right hands. Will ride out in company, alone, front or back, not fizzy, stupid or silly in anyway.

Has been turned out in a mixed herd with no issues and stabled at night, but could easily live out 24/7

He is great with the farrier (barefoot), will load and does travel well once he is settle on a trailer or box.

Here’s the Honest bit !!

Rolo does have an issue with worming and the vet (he’s petrified) he has recently been treated for a small sarcoid on this lower chest (does not bother him or interfere with tack), which has been banded and is healing well. So for this reason I will be selling him as a project, since the vet has treated him, he has gone back about 18 months in his education and has now become quite nervous and boisterous with handling. I do feel this would not be an issue for someone who has the time and the patience to work on his issues. I will hold my hands up this is too much for me as I work full time and have small children. I do not have the time to bring him back to the level he was at before.

He is also food aggressive but when he is left alone in his stable with a bucket he is no issue

No vices, No cribbing, No weaving, No windsucking

He would suit a confident person with lots of knowledge he is NOT a novice and NOT a first pony HE WILL NEED WORK!!
