Glen Amy is a 15,2hh, 11year old Connemara Mare. She was bought 4 months ago for our daughters, (12 & 13 year old) but unfortunately she’s a little too forward for one of them as she is still quite green. She’s a beautiful mare that would suit a confident teenager or small Adult to take her out cross country and showjumping. Amy is very willing to please with good ground manners, she’s brilliant to tie up, tack up and potter around in the stable, she has typical mare attributes, if she wants you away from her space in the stable she will tell you, but also loves a groom and a cuddle and pamper time spent on her. She is good for the vet. Recently passed a 5* vetting. Dentist (recently done) and clipping she requires sedation, great for farrier. Loading good in Horse Box but needs a bit of work in a trailer. She is a little bouncy but works great in all paces, she really loves to jump. Our 13 year old rides her comfortably so she’s not too forward but needs someone with a good seat and confident rider.
She hacks out brilliant alone and is great with any noise and traffic. She’ll hack out in company but is better to be the lead horse. Great to catch in field. She’s a perfect mum daughter horse, only had one previous owner before us, they had her for 7 years. Sad to say she’s just a little too much for one of our novice girls. We’ve really loved our time with her and although I’d love to keep her, our girls need more of a plodder to learn on.
