Create my profile now!I purchased Jack back in August 2023 with the understanding that he was backed
and ready to start further education. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
When I bought Jack, I was informed that he had been lightly backed and had never
bucked or bronked. However, upon bringing him home, we discovered several issues.
He was in pain across his back, his teeth were overdue, and he needed treatment
from the farrier. Additionally, he was very nervous, especially around men.
Over the past 8 months, we spared no expense in treating all his physical ailments,
and he is no longer in pain due to his injuries. Our vet identified saddle trauma
resulting from a poorly fitted saddle.
Shortly after purchase, Jack was ridden twice gently in the sand school. The first ride
went well, but during the second ride, he spooked and threw me into a fence. Later,
we learned that this incident had occurred just one week before the sale.
The reason for selling Jack is that he was originally intended for me and my 7-yearold daughter to ride. However, given his current condition, he is not suitable for us.
He needs to go to a quiet yard with someone experienced in handling this breed.
Restarting him from scratch will require patience and confidence.
Jack is being sold as an unbacked project, allowing the new owner to put their own
stamp on him. He has the potential to become a lovely riding horse. His beautiful
movement could excel in the show ring, and he has seen coloured trotting poles
without being phased. I plan to work with him on the ground, including lunging and
long reining. While he is good to lead, he remains very nervous. He can be impatient
to go out to the field and dislikes being last. Stress affects him easily.
Jack is playful with other horses and can be quite dominant. Currently, he is out with
geldings only, and he has not kicked since I’ve owned him. His teeth, vaccinations,
and feet are all up to date.
