12.2hh 7 year old British Spotted Pony Project All Rounder

Tentatively putting up my lovely British Spotted Pony rescue for sale. This is his second time advertised as he went on trial but did not work out as the people were not experienced enough to work with him and have asked to send him back as they would prefer something more ready to go.(It says appaloosa because British Spotted Pony is not an option in the menu!)

Ghost has been on loan to a lovely little girl for a year or so now but they no longer have the time to loan him.

Ghost is broken to ride and drive, but has not been driven in a long time as he was broken very, very young and when he was rescued he was turned away to recover, first by his rescuers then by me when I took him on.

Ghost is my dream pony, he is around 12.2hh, 7 years old and absolutely stunning with beautiful, comfortable movement, he will drive like a dream if brought back in I have no doubts. Ghost does have a cart and a saddle that can be negotiated on if interested.

Ghost does need to continue chiropractic work on his pelvis due to being ridden and driven too young, but he is sound and cleared for light work, and with more work will come right for full time riding/driving, so price is low.

Ghost is good for the farrier, perfect to load and travel, good to groom, tack up and ride. Ghost is green as he has spent a long time turned away to mature but is W/T/C beautifully with both me and his loaner and the other girls who sometimes ride him. He needs to continue schooling and learning but he is eager to please and very sweet and gentle. He can be a bit stubborn when asked to leave his friends but if you tell him he will go, I never use a whip or spurs on him, he is very soft and only needs light touches from reins/legs.

Ghost is extremely good on the roads and not phased by most traffic and happy to lead the hack or walk out, he loves doing things with someone and learning new things. I am 5ft2 and 50 odd kg and he carries me fine for light schooling but I won't ride him a lot due to his physio/chiro work.

Ghost has been raised with dogs and has no problems around them. Busy yards do not phase him, he is happy to be stabled or live out but he does prefer living out. He has been on full livery on trial stabled with turnout.

This is a very sad sale, Ghost was supposed to be teaching my niece to ride and I, and she, are heartbroken that I am being forced to give him up, I fell in love with him the day I saw him being driven into a river as a foal and tried to buy him, and later he came back into my life again and this time I wasn't letting him get away from me again and bought him then and there, gelded him that day and brought him home to me.

Ghost is a very well loved member of the family and he is ridden bitless and bitted in a simple snaffle as when I got him he had bit scarring on his mouth, he is so soft he doesn't need 'brakes' he pulls up like an angel in just a headcollar.

Ghost is looking to find himself a new family to love and cherish him. He would be perfect as a first ridden/off leadrein pony and can do leadrein but as stated he is green and does need schooling to do lots of that sort of work, hence low price. He can nap at the gate when ridden and needs bringing on, he is not a ready to go pony but has never presented any behavioural issues to me or been problematic to handle bar the napping which is very easy to work through with him.

He has given his loaner such confidence, when she first started riding him she was only confident to walk, now she rides him everywhere at all speeds and rides him bareback out on little hacks!

I don't want to give my boy up but it is what is best for both him and myself, but he will be sorely missed and is a solid yard favourite of all the girls up there.
