Not for a novice he is a forward going pony
Complete honest advert for my special boy.
I am looking for a forever home for him at a fraction of what is worth to enable this and I would like to keep in touch.
Teddy had a late start to his ridden career only being back 2 years ago. He came to me just under a year ago of which I brought him to be my daughters mounted games pony.
When i purchased him he was quiet a nervous pony but during our time of owning him he has gone on to do a range of disciplines and came out of his shell. he has wanted for nothing and is up to date with everything.
I have tonnes of videos him, he has been on summer rides, stay overs at somerford park in cheshire, cross country, show jumping, mounted games, the gallops and been a member of the pony club.
When teddy arrived to me he was very difficult to put a bit in and therefore was used with a hackmore after having his teeth freshly done i was then able to get a bit in him over 4 months of us using him with a bit i could see he was showing signs of pain while being rode with the bit. After more tests and more teeth at only 5 months after his last teeth was done it was clear that the bit does cause him pain due to a slight unaligned jaw. Therefore me and the vet made the decision to not use him with a bit again and thats how I would like it to stay.
He rides 100% better in a hackamore than bit as he shows clear signs of being in pain.
Sadly due to us being a pony club mounted games competive home this goes against the rules as there are only allowed snaffle bits.
Unfortunately my partner lost his job in december and with me working full time and all pur ponies at our own place on full diy I just dont have the time or the funds to do him justice. He thrives in work and would be great for someone that low level competes or does not compete at all.
Teddy is always handled by myself on the ground my 11 year old always catches him and brings him in but he is known to bite but this does settle with moody gelding which he can come with.
His not a cuddly pony he prefers a quick brush over and prefers you to pick his feet out from his hock rather than brush your hand down his leg.
He is fine to be trimmed, loads first time & always comes running over to be catched.
I am happy to answer any questions and the right home is most important for him. He is fantastic to ride and rarly puts a foot wrong when rode. However he is not for a child on the ground ive never been hurt by him but he can be unpredictable so you do have to be ready at all times in case of a bite from him.
His unaligned jaw does not affect him in anyway other than he needs not be rode with a bit and to have teeth done 6 monthly rather than yearly.
The right home is more important than price!
