14hh, 12y/o, piebald cob mare
We have come to the heartbreaking decision to find Puzzy her next adventure. This is due to no fault of her own but due to my daughter being at uni and simply not having the time at the moment. We have owned puzzle since she was 3, backed her and produced her and she has currently spent the past school year at Suffolk Rural Collage on loan.
My daughter had a bad experience at a riding school and has been a nervous rider ever since, Puzzle has been a safe and honest pony who she backed and brought on, however she no longer has the time for riding.
She has never bombed off or kicked, she can sometimes be nippy when tightening her girth if you are too rough with her. She is safe to hack alone and in company, but as any horse can she does sometimes have the occasional “look” but with reassurance will move forward. She is good to school and loves to pop a jump. She is a forward cob, not a plod and is very inquisitive, keen to learn and keen to please.
She's had all sorts of people on her from novices to experienced riders. She excels when ridden by someone who uses soft and understanding aids and is capable of producing some beautiful work. She is a beautifully put together cob who would excel in showing, the first show we took she achieved firsts from all her classes and went on to achieve second reserved champion of all show classes.
She's good with the farrier, her teeth and jabs are all up to date, whilst at Otley she has also had lovely physio sessions and tack check. She loves a groom (especially ear scratches) and is good to hose down and clip. She's good to turn out and bring in, you can muck out with her in the stable and has been on the horse walker while on loan is Suffolk Rural.
This is honestly a heartbreaking decision as she is truly one of a kind and has been a pride and joy for the past 9 years. We really want to find her a loving long term home. I'd also love to get updates on what she's getting up to.
