"Joey" Liver Chestnut Gelding All Rounder
This lovely 15.2hh Welsh cross gelding is the perfect family friendly all rounder. He has a soft, affectionate nature and genuinely enjoys being around people, making him a wonderful choice for a home that wants a kind, steady horse who fits easily into daily life. He has been at home with us for four years and has been an absolute pleasure throughout.
He is ridden by daughter, mum and dad and is always the same no matter who is on him, what the weather or where he is. He doesn’t need working every day and can go weeks without being ridden and then still turn up the same.
He schools well and has a natural way of going that makes dressage work enjoyable and straightforward. He is willing, responsive and tries hard for his rider without ever being sharp or difficult. He also enjoys low level show jumping and will happily pop a small course with a calm, confidence giving attitude. He has also competed at local cross country events which he has really enjoyed.
Out hacking he is great - sensible, relaxed and happy he can go first or last with mares or geldings. He takes everything in his stride and gives his rider an enjoyable experience every time whether out in the field or on the road.
On the ground he is gentle, polite and easy to handle. He loves fuss and attention, stands quietly for grooming, and is excellent with the farrier, vet, dentist and clipping. He loads and travels without any issues and settles well wherever he goes.
As a youngster he had a small bump removed from close to his eye which has left a scar this has not caused any problems at all in the whole time we’ve owned him or for his previous owner.
He would suit a riding club home, a mother-daughter /whole family share, a novice wanting something forgiving, or a family looking for a kind, dependable horse who is as lovely and easy to handle as he is to ride. He is a genuine, sweet natured boy who deserves the very best of homes. He will come with tack and rugs. He is only up for sale due to a change in circumstances as is our other family horse who is also for sale. We would love them to stay together and price is negotiable if this is a possibility.
