Due to a change in direction towards focusing on my homebreds, Belle is now looking for her new home.
I’ve owned Belle for the past 2.5 years. She is 11 years old and had reportedly been lightly backed before I got her, however I chose to restart her education as she was still very green. She has spent much of her life as a broodmare/recipient mare, so I allowed a year for her to let down and change shape before beginning ridden work.
About Belle:
16hh, 11yo ISH mare (unrecorded breeding)
Kind, genuine temperament – a real yard favourite
Good to handle in all ways
Easy keeper, straightforward to feed
Has been long reined and led out extensively, and lightly hacked
Health:
Belle was diagnosed with sidebone in both front feet (confirmed by X-ray, June last year). Following veterinary advice, she is now in anti-leverage shoes, which made a significant difference. Because of this, she is best suited to a hacking/low-level home rather than intensive work.
Management:
Requires a grass livery / living out home – she does not thrive when stabled
Currently living out full time and very settled this way
What she needs:
Belle is still early in her ridden education, so she is not a novice ride or first horse. She would suit someone experienced and sympathetic who is happy to continue her education at her pace.
Additional info:
Has never required the vet aside from diagnostic X-rays
A genuine, kind mare who deserves a knowledgeable home
Home is the absolute priority—this is far more important than price. She will stay with me if the right home is not found.
