John Oates Horseboxes

We recently bought our horsebox and couldn’t be happier with both the horsebox and the service we received. From start to finish, James was absolutely fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer any questions we had. He made the whole buying process straightforward and stress-free, with excellent communication throughout. The horsebox is exactly what we were looking for, and the quality has exceeded our expectations. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is a priority, and that really shows in the service we received. What can I say!! The team at John Oates are amazing. This is now our 2nd Lorry with them, I love all there new upgrades and design to there new shape lorry’s. It’s all about the details for me!! This wasn’t be our last lorry with them.

I thought trying to find a new horse lorry was going to be an absolute nightmare but I must recommend anyone to speak to James at John Oates Horseboxes whether it’s a new build or pre loved for his/their meticulous service and attention to detail. From the first contact of interest, to a WhatsApp video call around the lorry, full history given, to arranging to view with an experienced and knowledgeable mechanic who went through the vehicle with a fine tooth comb and any concerns were checked/sorted by the John Oates team. It was beautifully valeted before collection. We travelled up by train and were collected at the station, Dave had got the lorry all ready to go and gave me a few hints and tips on driving an auto Iveco before we set off on a beautifully smooth drive home. Such a professional service from start to finish. “Desmond Tutu” as he is known has settled in beautifully and we are all looking forward to making as many wonderful memories over many miles as we did in our old lorry. This really is my dream lorry and as I keep telling myself “who needs pension fund anyway?”😂

After a horrible experience with another horsebox company, James came to my rescue. I wanted a John Oates horsebox years ago and I contacted James back then and he very upfront sent me the quotes - no sales spiel … just told me how much my dream would cost. I wish I had gone with him straight away when two years after our initial conversation I decided I was financially ready to complete my dream of owning a pink horsebox. James was so understanding when I came back to him and said I’d had a not-so-nice experience. He made it his mission to make me feel secure. The build is just incredible. I fully recommend going and meeting the team in Birmingham and see the builds. James had another box in that was preloved and I was almost sold until he showed me one of their own builds. Wow. Just wow. And now I have my own! And it’s pink! The attention to detail was second to none - the little things to make it feel so special. When the box came, I wasn’t excited. I had been there and been burnt so I was not about to let myself get excited again in case it went wrong. The box has not let me down and to make life even more complicated… my horse is a terrible loader. I explained to James and he just kept saying ‘Your horse will be fine on our boxes’. During a few practice sessions, my horse played his usual tricks but what I very quickly noticed was that the box actually made it so much easier when he got himself into trouble. It made the trouble disappear quickly. The box did not exacerbate the situation - it made it easier for us to recover and build his confidence. Features such as the rubber latch on the partition making it quick and simple to close when I was ready, the very very small gap between ramp and inside meaning if he slipped being silly with his footing he wasn’t then scared by completely tripping, the panels inside with zero catchy bits, the partition latch with its hydraulic technology meaning no loud clangs or metal screechy sounds as I close him in - just all small details that add up to a safe, simple and confident picture. So now? I’m excited. I walk past it on my drive and I feel butterflies. And of course, things can go wrong but I have a warranty and James at the end of a call. It’ll go back for a 3 month check and any niggles can be sorted then with no drama. I’m confident and feel safe in the purchase I’ve made. All I can say is thank you to all staff at John Oates, especially James Their after sales service is amazing Nothing is ever too much trouble down to the smallest of things, My wife loves her new lorry “Bumblebee” Highly recommend if your looking for a quality Horsebox and great one to one service every step of the way The horses love it too
