About Ex Racehorses
A horse described as "just off the track" will typically need six to twelve months of patient groundwork and basic ridden schooling before it is manageable for everyday use. Look for horses that have had at least some turnout time and basic handling away from a racing environment. Horses with six months or more of documented retraining represent significantly better value for most buyers than those arriving directly from a yard.
