"Orla" Grey Mare Project Horse

The time has come to sadly sell on our gorgeous Orla🤍 Orla was bought from Ireland as an untouched 2 year old in March to produce over the summer and now is ready for the next stage in her life! Throughout the time I’ve owned her she has filled out and matured into a lovely young horse. She is so friendly, the first to come running to you in the field, and always loves cuddles. Orla was very unhandled when we first bought her however has took perfectly to everything we’ve asked of her and blossomed into a lovely little character. She is great to catch, good for the farrier (barefoot) and vet, loads perfectly, good to bath and will stand to be brushed all day.

Over the summer, we have long reined, backed and started her under saddle, which she has taken all in her stride perfectly! Orla has been produced slowly and professionally and we haven’t had a moments bother with her. She has been long reined and ridden around all the farms back fields out on hacks as well as in the arena. Not fazed by farm machinery etc. She stands perfectly at the mounting block and isn’t nervous or skittish at all with a rider on. We haven’t done loads of work in the arena with her due to her age however have established the basics- walked and trotted around fine and over poles. Orla has been out alone and in company hacking and had some little canters.

Orla hasn’t done masses of ridden work, just lightly been worked and ridden away since being broke in. We have also free jumped her and she shows great jumping potential with a lovely shape over a fence and a neat backend.

No novices for Orla as she is still of course a young, green horse and I would love for her to go to a long term knowledgeable home.
