Joey is a 15-year-old, 15.3hh Thoroughbred gelding who I have owned and loved for the past 5 years. This is a very difficult decision, but due to a change in my circumstances, I feel it is the right time to find him a new home.
I am currently in a difficult financial position and need to get back on my feet, and with a lack of time to give Joey the attention he deserves, I feel it is only fair to find him a home where he can have more individual attention and the opportunity for a fresh start.
Joey is a sweet boy with a lovely nature. He is currently out of work and is being offered as a project for someone who can give him time, patience and a consistent routine if they wish to bring him back into work.
A little about Joey:
15 years old, 15.3hh Thoroughbred gelding. Ex-racer. Sweet-natured boy. Currently out of work. Not strong. Currently barefoot but will need front shoes if ridden. Needs to be stabled during winter but can live out during summer. Benefits from a consistent routine if in work. Could potentially make a lovely companion home.
Joey is very bonded to my other horse, which has made it difficult to do much with either of them independently. I feel they both need the opportunity to have their own lives and individual attention.
His vaccinations are not currently up to date, and I want to be completely transparent about this.
I am looking for a genuine, knowledgeable home that understands Thoroughbreds and is willing to give him the time and patience he deserves. He is being offered as a project, so please be realistic about what he may need to settle into a new home and potentially return to work.
This is not a decision I have made lightly after 5 years together. I love Joey, but I have to be realistic about my current circumstances and put his future first. I want him to have the best chance of a happy life, whether that is as a ridden horse or a companion.
He does wind suck but has a collar when stabled ro stop him.
A good home is my priority. Please message me for more information or to discuss him further. Please note time wasters he is not string but by no means a novice ride he needs a knowledgeable home.
