Griffin
12yo, 16.2hh bay gelding thoroughbred.
Been in the same home for 7/8years so the best home only for this boy!
Griffin previously raced roughly 9 times before his current home however lost every race and became a family horse
Griffin has the sweetest temperament you could want in a horse. He’s gentle with impeccable manners! Hasn’t got a bad bone in his body. Good for the farrier, dentist, clipping, turn out with others, to load and travel you name it.
Griffin has been in inconsistent ridden work for a few years due to owners time. I myself used to exercise Griffin for his owner 3 days a week roughly 2 years ago for a year until I couldn’t any longer. Within this time we hacked by ourself/in company, lunged and schooled. His schooling did improve and got to the point where he could consistently pick up correct canter leads and stay level headed however this did take time with only being ridden a few times a week building muscle also. I feel with more time and regular work he would come back great and pick things up more quickly.
Now for bad points: Griffin could be a typical TB. Spooky and if he didn’t like what he was looking at he could spin and spit his dummy out. Never witnessed any rearing or bucking but we could spin when unsure. Sensitive/sharp ride so no riders that are going to bully him. Obviously I haven’t ridden Griffin within the last year so I’m going off how he was when I had him in more work
Griffin is being sold from the field as he hasn’t been in work again for atleast 6 months. He is to be sold as a project for someone to bring back into work, get fit and put their mark on. Please people only who have had experience with thoroughbreds before.
Griffin will be sold with everything he has inc a brand new saddle he had fitted to him costing £1200 at the time! Bridle, any rugs he has etc.
Based Nottingham
We want to see Griffin in his new forever home! Very important
