Boris (Armadale Bracken II) is a 14.1h, 14-year-old New Forest pony who has done a bit of everything and is bombproof. He has been in the Berkshire area since he was six months old and in the 3 and half years, we have owned him he has taught my then 9-year-old daughter everything she knows today. She has gone from being an extremely nervous beginner to a happy, confident rider who is ready for her next challenge on a horse that fits her.
Boris has been used for dressage, show jumping, x-country and gymkhanas. He has attended BRC and pony rallies, pony camp, and stay-away shows. Good to hack alone and in company – in any traffic or open spaces. Regular travel in a lorry or trailer and has gone as far as Lincolnshire and Hickstead during his time with us.
As a New Forest pony, he prefers to live out (with mares or geldings) but can be stabled if needed for pony camp or away rallies. He is good to clip, shoe, vet and have the dentist. Up to date with everything.
Boris will look after his jockey all day long; giving his rider confidence and provide any parent with the peace of mind we all crave when watching our kids ride! He loves to hunt and although we have not done this with him, he has previously drag hunted and loves it.
Boris does suffer from sweet itch, but we have always found this very easy to manage.
He is a very safe and sensible boy.
