Description

Looking for a forever home for this loveliest boy as he's not had the best of times lately. I have owned him since 2013 and it's only because my circumstances have changed that I'm forced to make this extremely heartbreaking decision.

I am selling Teddie as a companion or light happy hacker (once given ample time to settle in) as he's been to two loan homes and hasn't been able to settle in with someone else riding him. He's good as gold on the ground and doesn't put a foot wrong. Will stand on the yard for hours to be fussed or just to sleep. He LOVES trick training, or anything that involves treats, and is very quick to learn new things. Never mouthy when taking food, even young kids can give it to him without issues. Has been barefoot the entire time we've owned him, and his feet are very happy and healthy, with minimal upkeep. Never called a vet for him.

He's a quiet and sensitive horse that can get stressed in new situations, but he's easy to read once you get to know him and he trusts you. For this reason, and the riding reason above, I am selling him as a companion horse, but if further down the line he's settled in fine (and you are a competent rider as he can be hot), some happy hacking would definitely be possible! We go for hacks for hours at a time, all at the end of the buckle. He's not spooky or jumpy, but does like having a confident owner to get calm energy from.

He's currently in a lwvtb home, but he's not settling in with the other horses (IMO, through no fault of Teddie's.) He's never had an issue with horses before, has been with youngsters and older horses alike, and even when they changed field mates a lot, he was happy as larry as long as he had food. Middle of the herd. Good with both mares and geldings, big horses and shetlands. Has lived out, unrugged, and with a token feed for most of the time I've owned him, without issue, but is equally happy to relax in a stable if needed.

Good with dogs and farm equipment. Has had kids sit on his back, so could be good for young kids to walk in hand with.

Both Teddie and I are open books, so any questions, just ping me text or message me through whatsapp and I will happily answer them. I am only looking for the absolute best home, and a forever home for him, as he deserves nothing less.

He is currently based in Chichester, but I would prefer a home near Surrey/West Sussex border as I live near Gatwick, and I want to be able to check on him as he settles in. Home more important than price.
