Both parents on site, as well as a half sister and half brother by the same sire. Half sister is 8 years and is 17hh. Half brother is rising 2 and is smaller at about 14.2 just now.
His sire is Quattro B x Epilot. 16.2/16.3 I don't think any further details of these breeding lines are needed! The next line up on the dam's side after Etanja, is Le Mexico.
His dam 16.1 is NZB (warmblood) Pintado Desperado x Herocity; fine breeding from that side of the world. Her brother, Gandalf - I believe was 8th at the Beijing Olympics with Mark Todd. She was bought as a rising 2 year old from the stud in New Zealand and imported to the UK in 2013. She is very intelligent, athletic and straight forward to ride. The breeder, Edgewater Stud noted her as the one with the best paces amongst the youngstock that they had bred. That's why I chose her.
Sire of granddam was Herocity, a grey Australian Thorough Bred, well known; who also stood in New Zealand and America, where he died.
I believe that Herocity was accepted into the Hanoverian stud book to refine the breed at that time. So technically the dam is related to lots of good Hanoverians through the TB maternal grandsire.
The colt is blue roan and white at the moment, but might grey out entirely like his mother. I was surprised that he came out with black colouring - as the dam was originally a red bay and most other relatives that I know on both sides are chestnut or grey. I had thought there was only a 6% chance of black, so maybe he'll stay blue roan - I really don't know. In any case he's very regal, with fantastic movement.
His sire was bought for dressage as his movement is superb, but suffered as injury at just 5 years. He's been enjoying eating the grass ever since. He has a lovely nature, I go into his field everyday, he's is extremely gentle. I walk the mares past his field regularly without fuss.
This colt is for sale to an experienced home; he weaned very quietly and is happy in and out of the stable. He can be in the field on his own, or with his 12hh rotund friend.
Obviously very strong jumping lines.
Really lovely temperament in the colt. The dam was a very calm gentle mother with the foal and to handle. Also super in the field with other horses. I've already mentioned what the sire is like, so you have the breeding and the nature.
Now gelded
