Equestrian Advice & Guides Beginners Advice
We were told Pirate has hunted, he is great to hack in company and alone. He is so much fun to hack, has nannied other horses, and is just generally such a good boy he's become one of my favourites to ride.
He is already learning about self carriage, despite having legs up to his armpits! He is still a little quiet off the leg, but is learning at a rapid rate of knots.
He has popped around an 80 SJ course at Moores and was amazing, and was an absolute saint to take out. He took everything in his stride, stood to watch patiently, warmed up nicely, and was quite unflappable in the ring. He is amazingly scopey!
We have also taken him xc schooling where he was an angel! He never said no, and got into a lovely rhythm.
He is partially blind in one eye but passed a 5 stage in March with the advisory that he does beautifully with it, and it hasn't caused him any issues. Our vet has also checked it and has said that without him experiencing further trauma, it shouldn't be a problem (which is the same for any horse!). Back recently checked. He does head shake slightly, we think due to pollen, but this is virtually unnoticeable with a nose net. He also has a few very small sarcoids in places where they do not affect him. This horse would be worth at least £10000 without these issues as he's as honest as the day is long, so please be assured that we have taken this into account when pricing him.
In everything, he is a kind lad who tries his best, naturally says yes to every question, even if he struggles with the answer. He will be such a lovely horse for someone to produce due to his nature and stamp, we could see him doing almost any job!
Price will increase with the more he does with us but we thought we would give someone else the chance to produce him!
