Ruby is a 10 year old 12.2 mare who is a competitive all-rounder for a confident rider. She loves jumping, will turn on a sixpence and jump off any stride (but has breaks), very rarely has a pole and is fast against the clock. I’ve competed her with double clears up to 85cm, she’s schooled round 90-1m courses, and has the scope to go bigger with a smaller rider. We have evented at 80cm (Ickworth, Geldeston and Isleham this year) and have schooled over BE100 fences. She’ll jump into water, up and down steps, diches etc. She can do a lovely dressage test and has won up to BD novice (scores up to 70%, qualifying for PetPlan and U25s at prelim and novice, 3rd Petplan prelim in 2018) and has done some unaffiliated elementary tests (around 65%). She moves beautifully and would excel in working hunter – we’ve only done a few riding club shows but have won every time!
Since last summer we’ve been on teams for:
- Pony club (intermediate area dressage, regional showjumping (85cm), regional eventing (85cm),
- Riding club (combined training (novice/75cm), dressage (BD novice), dressage to music (BD novice and pairs), showjumping (85cm))
- BD Youth (prelim)
She’s easy to handle, loves cuddles and being groomed, lives in or out (needs a field shelter if she’s out 24/7), loads well into a lorry or trailer and hacks alone or in company. She’s been to senior PC camp twice. She’s always been barefoot and is well-behaved for the farrier and to clip.
She can be looky, so is not a pony for a very novice rider.
This is a very sad sale of my superstar pony – I just don’t have enough time to take her out jumping and compete my other pony in dressage, and with the right rider she could go so far. We will only let her go to a 5* home where she’ll be taken out competing and be loved lots and lots, and the right home is more important than the price!
