*Offered on sales livery* Frankie is the perfect dressage horse/riding club alrounder/eventer/ pleasure horse that everyone is looking for with the most wonderful quiet genuine temperament. She is a 15.1/15.2h 8 year old dark bay registered Irish Sports Horse mare. She is extremely well bred with Connemara bloodlines including the famous Templebready Fear Bui. She is the perfect mix of both the Connemara and the tb, combining a very trainable temperament and ridability with elegance and athleticism. She is a super quality stamp with a nice depth of girth and a real leg in each corner type. She is a lovely dark bay, (almost black) with a white stripe and very classy as she catches the eye where ever she goes. She has excellent conformation, clean limbs (just a small scar on hind leg which is only superficial) and very straight movement. She is a firm yard favourite, everyone who meets her just loves her, she is so easy going and friendly. She is a very fun alrounder who excels all disciplines especially dressage and would make the perfect small adults horse, or teenager coming off ponies or even mother/ daughter share. Horses like Frankie do not come along very often, she is the type very hard to find.
Frankie has 3 super paces which are very correct, elastic and engaged. She has a lovely relaxed walk with good over track and stretch, she has a very smart supple trot and she has a lovely springy collected canter which you could sit to all day long. She is a very straight forward ride and gives you an amazing feeling. She works beautifully up into the contact, with a very light soft feel. She is nicely responsive off the aids and nicely forward going. She rides very well between hand and leg and does take a bit of leg. Although she has been ridden by experienced riders and competent novices, she is more suited to a more experienced rider as she is far too good for a novice and has had a lot of work go into her producing her correctly to a good level. I’d love to see her reach her full potential. She is very nicely schooled on the flat and works at elementary level at home. She can do leg yield, shoulder in, simple changes and counter canter. She has done some unaffiliated dressage tests and online dressage tests at preliminary and novice level; she always receives very promising comments and good scores in the high 60's. She is now ready to go out and affiliate and work her way up, she would have affiliated at the start of last year if it hadn’t been for lock down. She finds her work very easy and she is very light footed on her feet with a real leg in each corner. She has so much potential to get to the higher levels. She is very trainable and ridable and a firm favourite on my yard.
Frankie enjoys her jumping and is very bold and scopey over a fence. She makes a super shape over a fence and is very careful, she rarely touches a pole. She is more forward going to jump than on the flat. She nicely takes her rider into the fence but isn’t strong. She helps her rider out if presented to the fence on the wrong stride. She has mainly been used for dressage so hasn’t got a lot of mileage when it comes to jumping but she certainly enjoys it and is very bold. She has jumped over a metre with lots of scope to go higher with a little more experience and practice. She has seen both coloured and rustic xc jumps. She would certainly have enough jump for pure BS or BE if this is what her new owner would want to do.
Frankie hacks well alone and in company. She is good with traffic and sensible in open spaces. She happily hacks out alone and in company. She is great in open spaces and has cantered through open fields on the buckle end of the reins. . She has been on long 10 mile hacks, where she has crossed rivers, jumped logs, crossed bridges etc all in a calm manner. She really is so chilled out and you can really relax on her and enjoy yourself, she will also stand still while you stop and chat to your friend. She would be excellently suited for all pleasure rides and horse holidays etc. She really enjoys her hacking. She has also been hacked out in just a bareback pad; she is a very comfortable ride.
Frankie has an exceptional quiet temperament, she is very quiet to handle and is very polite with excellent stable manners. She is a very kind and friendly girl who can safely be handled by everyone including children and non-horsey people. She is such an easy girl to have around, she is excellent in all ways to handle, and is regularly brought in from the field by children. She leads like a dog and isn't fazed by anything. She happily lives in or out alone or in company. She is a nicely independent girl who is confident in her own skin and isn’t dependent on other horses. She is also the calming influence on the yard and helps more stress horses settle into their stables. She is such a lovely girl who is worth her weight in gold!
Frankie must go to a 10* home where she will be loved and enjoyed and hopefully reach her potential. She will make an excellent dressage horse, riding club alrounder, eventer, jumper. This is a very hard sale for her owner due to her change in circumstances. It is also very important to me that Frankie sells to a knowledgeable home who will love her as I owned her prior to her current owner so I know her very well myself. She is a super star!...Read full description
