Lola is an approximately 14.2 mare, piebald, 7 years old.
We have her in to sell and have started her again slowly, she has had a rider on again and a gentle walk and trot down the lane, and has now had her first schooling session in the arena where she had a canter and jumped for the first time in months, she didn’t put a foot wrong! We have since free jumped her up to 1m and she put over a foot on the fence!
We have been treating her in the first few moments of getting on to avoid any rushing. She has lovely paces and a great jump, so will be worth a lot to someone willing to continue working with her.
She has had some difficulties in her life as she had been backed too early and worked too hard early on, causing kissing spine. She had successful surgery and was rehabbed and was riding out nicely. Unfortunately, due to time commitments her owner was unable to keep her in constant work and she had developed a habit of rushing off when mounted, which her owner had counter-acted by spinning her in a circle. She would then be happy to ride out normally. She has also bucked before the kissing spine.
We haven't had any problematic behaviour and she's been a pleasure to do in all ways! We have had a few worried moments but we just let her know that we're looking after her and she's brilliant!
Lola is easy to keep, she is happy to live in or out. She is barefoot and good with the farrier. She is easy to load. She needs to get to know you before she is good to catch, but is sweet as anything for a snack!
