Sad sale of my gorgeous 11-year-old 15hh Zangersheide mare. She's got impeccable bloodlines (great-grandsire is Accord II, whose progeny have won over 2 million euros) and is a really beautiful horse with four lovely paces.
I've had her three years and done a bit of everything with her - dressage, cross-country, show jumping, riding club camp, sponsored rides - and she really loves an outing in the lorry! Last year, we qualified for the British Riding Club Show Jumping Championships in Lincoln with our local riding club, and this year we rode in the cross country team for the riding club Liaison Cup, coming third. We score in the low to mid 60s for Prelim dressage and she could definitely do a lot better with a more enthusiastic dressage rider on her back than me! We're confidently jumping a metre at home, and she's a neat and careful jumper who almost never touches a pole. Again, she has the potential to go much higher show jumping with a confident rider as she's very scopey and talented.
She hacks alone or in company (although definitely prefers company) and is good to load and for the farrier, dentist etc. She doesn't buck, bronc or rear but is not a novice ride as she's a sensitive mare who takes her confidence from her rider, and would excel in a confident and experienced home. She'd be brilliant for a confident Pony Club teenager moving onto horses or an experienced lightweight adult looking for a talented show jumper. She doesn't need riding every day, but she does thrive on routine. It's important to me that she finds the right home. I'm selling because, as a busy working mum to two young kids, I'm short on time and this gorgeous girl would be better off in a competitive home.
