Annie. 16.1h Irish Sports Mare
Excellent in traffic and calm in open spaces. Hacks out alone or in company. Not mareish. Lovely floating paces, really enjoys being schooled. The most wonderful hack. Very enthusiastic about jumping. Annie has been placed many times at Allens Hill Equestrian Centre showjumping. I have done bits of gridwork and she has responded to this so well. I have cross country schooled her and taken her to a few fun rides (this I think she enjoyed the most!) I feel a huge amount of regret over the fact I have put very little in to this horse in the two years of owning her and she has done nothing but give back and improve drastically. We bought Annie from a Irish sports horse dealer who had not long brought her over. She was bred in Cork and had been used just for hacking and hunting. I really had a good feeling about her and sensed her potential to event and wanted this to be my project with re-schooling and to eventually event.
Upon inspection of her passport we happened to notice her great grandfather is Nijinsky! Doesn’t make a difference to anything really but we thought it was quite cool and special. I really am so sad to admit the common story that I started a new career and I simply lacked the time to get things going. I already have a showjumper and I’m struggling to stay on top of her needs too.
She would make for the most lovely eventer with some further schooling or someone who wants to pop out to local shows, fun rides and x country….to be honest Annie would just be happy if all she did was hack for the rest of her life and I wish I could keep her but I have made the right decision for me and her as I no longer have the time and I worry hugely that she will just get wasted if I selfishly hold on to her.
