This is my beautiful 9 year old 17’2 shire mare Farholme lady Eleanor

Absolutely beautiful mare, I’ve owned her about a year. I’ve had so many plans with her but time and poor health and now a recent accident has me decide that I’m 100% not going to ride anymore (the accident isn’t to do with my horses).

She is wasted sitting in a field with me and believe me it’s taken me a few weeks to actually do this because my heart says no but she needs a job to do.

I brought her as a blank canvas, she’s done a few in hand shows when she was young but nothing since due to her previous owner being old and unfortunately passed away.

When she came to me, she went straight to a local women who worked with and broke her to ride (I have videos of this) but she’s done nothing since except eat grass, poo and be absolutely adorable, she’s such a kind mare. Because she is so laid back once she’s settled after moving she wouldn’t take a lot of carry on her education.

She wasn’t vaccinated so I’ve started those, she’s due the 6 months one in august. She has been done by my barefoot podiatrist about 2 weeks ago and has previously been done by her a few times. She will test them to start with but will realise what’s happening and have them done.

She doesn’t do so well with all hay types I’ve found, it makes her cough. We had the vet out to check her and she did bloods etc but didn’t find anything. We’ve kept her mainly on wrapped hay, hayledge (occasionally) but I have mixed hay in and she’s been ok with that. It could just be a certain type of hay that was doing it.

We are currently back out 24/7 but has been stabled at night before that so will be a good doer either way.

With me she’s living out with my other mare and my old gelding and they are fine.

She’s handled regular as we walked her down to her field every day, she will lower her head for you to put her headcollar on.

She hadn’t done barely any roadwork but what we did do, she was fine. Like most horses she was looking round a lot but didn’t do anything but she wasn’t alone, she was with both of my other 2.

She will come with her bridle, a medium weight rug (from ruggles which is only months old), her stable rug (also from ruggles). I have other bits but these I am selling separately.

She loads/travels lovely, no issues there.

Please no day dreamers or lwvtb or payment plans, now I have made this decision I need to do it cause it’s killing me doing it.

I am looking for £5500 no offers as she’s worth her weight in gold. I will hold her with a decent deposit but not for long.
