Putting feelers out for once lockdown is over
Experienced owner/rider seeking a large Palomino, Appaloosa or Dun horse (would consider other coloured horses if they are something different to the usual piebald/skewbald)
Needs to be at least 16hh or upwards (possibly 15.3hh upwards if takes up your leg) but nothing too heavy, as we are not fans of heavy horses. So ideally no full cobs, though cob crosses will be considered, and nothing with feathers!
A horse with character and personality is a must, we are not looking for a sit and point riding school plod! So quirks are more than welcomed.
must be good in all the usual ways, catch/shoe/clip/stable etc and must respect fences. And must not stress if first/last in the field or left alone for any length of time
MUST hack alone as we tend to do 80% of our hacking alone, but must also be happy to hack in company and be 100% in all types of traffic
We don’t need to find a horse working at BD medium levels with regards to flat work as we’re more than happy to put work into a horse
Quirks are not a problem, but nothing dangerous. We don’t mind the odd excited buck or a little bit of fizz etc, but strictly no rearers or bolters
Will be used for hacking, schooling, trips to the beach, pleasure rides, and if the right horse comes along, possibly some lower level showing and/or dressage. We are not huge jumpers, so the ability to jump is not high on the list, however popping over the odd log while out on a hack would be nice.
We are offering a permanent, experienced and loving forever home for the right horse, where he or she will want for nothing.
They will be stabled on a small family run yard with year round turnout, other horses and miles of quiet hacking
References available on request and yard visits are more than welcome.
