Very sad sale of my pride & joy. Rare combination of completely level headed & safe as well as talented, competitive & athletic. 16hh 2012 bay ISH gelding by Loughehoe Guy out of a TB mare.
Chip would be most suited to a Riding Club, all-rounder type home. The type your grandma could hack down a main road on Sunday and he’ll go and win his class on Monday - a true rare find worth his weight in gold. He has turned his hoof to everything I’ve asked - dressage and eventing at unaffiliated level, all RC team activities including National Championships in arena eventing, hunted and hacked all over on his own never batting an eyelid at anything, snaffle mouthed & never strong in an open field, and hasn’t learnt to buck, rear or bolt. Regularly babysits breakers.
BS registered - jumping BN (90-100cm) since April. Never stops, will go off any stride and see one for you, gets his distances easily and I haven’t found a filler he’s looked at. Over this summer we have competed at Bolesworth International, Weston Lawns, Bishop Burton & Arena UK, all for up to 5 days at a time with placings in almost every class, just getting a pole occasionally. He wants to please and is completely consistent in the biggest of atmospheres, excellent in a busy warm up and settles quickly in new stabling. Would be an absolute pleasure to take to camps, the beach, fun rides etc. I am however trying to turn him into a showjumper and I feel the right person could get more out of him as a best friend to have fun with, rather than a serious competition horse. His flatwork is accurate and he is responsive to aids, however he would not be suited to a pure dressage home as he resents being asked to come round. HIs best attributes lie in his braveness and safety, not his ability to trot in circles.
100% to bath, shoe, clip, load, travel, catch etc. No vices. Unfortunate scarring to back legs from accident in fencing when he was 3. This does not cause him any problems & he comes with with clean xrays, however he therefore isn't ideally suited to a showing home. Teeth, worming, 6 monthly vaccine up to date. Fully shod. Fit, in full work and ready to go and give someone great fun. Would suit teen or young lady wanting to just have fun without ever needing to feel nervous! 11 stone weight limit please as he is fine.
Excellent trial facilities including 60x30 arena, course of jumps and hacking track, just outside of Newcastle.
