Redheart Appaloosas is a UK-based Stud nestled below the Malvern Hillis in Worcestershire, England.
We specialise in breeding, to achieve what the Appaloosa is well known for – versatility, athleticism, stamina and the heart to compete in any equine discipline.
We show at County and National level, promoting the Breed to the best of our ability. Our foals are bred from Champions in the ring and our young stock are following in their footsteps.
We collect from our resident Stallion DFR Patahas Redheart (Blu) and use frozen semen stored from our gelding Hevans EV Catorrius (Reus).
We have a selection of purebred Appaloosa mares, our herd is a “cocktail” of height, colour, stature and pedigree percentages with and without Appaloosa Characteristics. Our breeding plan has been 10 years in the making, we are currently breeding our third generation and are very proud of the results thus so far!
The registrations are varied within the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC), Appaloosa Horse Club UK (ApHC UK), British Appaloosa Society (BApS) and Foundation Horse Registry (FAHR).
Within ApHC, we concentrate on the Foundation Pedigree Designation (FPD) programme aiming for 100% (30 out of 30 Appaloosas in a five-generation pedigree). Where possible, we register eligible foals within the Generation Advancement Programme (GAP) – at the present time there is one GAP 6 and less than ten GAP 5 horses in the UK! Within BApS, all our foals are registered at Grade A and where possible, we register eligible foals within their Stud Book. We strive to enhance their Foundation bloodlines which are traced back to the original Nez Perce Indian horses and register eligible foals with FAHR.
We provide all registration documents, genetic reports (5-panel and GREY gene negative), colour tests and pedigree certificates.
