HorsesSpanish / IberianAll Rounders£ 5,000
15.1hh, 10 years. Looking for a new home, would consider a loan for the right home. Esta, Andalusian bay mare with fantastic expressive paces, pretty face. Wilts / Dorset border.
Lots of potential, a very willing girl, with consistent work she will be a fun, excellent all-rounder, would happily do low level dressage or jumping, equally happy hacking around. I suspect she would be a good endurance horse.
With us has worked in-hand, on the lunge, under saddle in the school, 3 good paces, hacks alone or in company, pops over a log in the woods, has done a small jump course, leads well off another horse.
As with many of this breed she is sensitive and occasionally hot, therefore is not a novice ride. She is forward and responsive to the seat. Can be a nervous ninny, with a confident person who gets on with things, she is fine. Would suit experienced teenager or adult use to the breed / forward horses wanting to have some fun.
BAPSH passport, PRE fusion. Sweet to handle, easy to load, lorry or trailer, travels ok. Good to catch. Up to date with vaccines and wormers. Good with dentist, vet, farrier (has been shod, fronts only at the moment, could go barefoot).
Esta takes time to settle, once trust established is a real honey. Currently lives out 24/7, has been turned out with mares and geldings, is better in company, or next door to company. She can be dominant when food is involved. (If she is in the wrong place, she will pace up and down, once a routine is established she is fine).
The right home is more important, so happy to negotiate for the right person.
I would view her as a project, sadly I don’t have the time. A great opportunity for a competent person to have a lovely horse with potential, for less. She is a forward sensitive ride, legs not needed for the forward, needed to give her confidence, similarly she is forward, has a sensitive mouth, prefers some contact but if held tight will become tense.
She came to me in Dec, due to my poor health Esta had to take some time away, now home and back in work and a routine, she settled more quickly when she came home and is now getting in shape. I cannot keep her long term as I have too many horses. We plan to continue her schooling, so price will increase with time. However, my health is still not 100% so if we found the right home she could go sooner and for less. So priced to sell.
Saddle (recently checked), bridle and rugs available.
