Horses for Loan£ 3024 yrsBlack
Looking for a part sharer for my Friesian gelding.
Nando is 24 years young and is looking for somebody who will provide him with as much love as I do two days a week with the possibility of more days as an option.
He is a 16.3, traditional, heavy set Friesian. I have had him now 6, coming up 7 years now and he is the most loving, loyal, sweetest and kindest horse you could ever wish to meet. Everywhere he goes. He turns heads, and is complimented on his stature and his looks.
He is looking for somebody who wants to fall in love as I have done and enjoy our beautiful hacking at a slower pace in life. He is still up for a walk, trot and canter hack. Just not cantering five days a week, cantering twice a week on soft, good going ground he would enjoy. Mostly, he likes walking, some trotting and a nice steady canter. He is good in the school but has most of his life before I had him driven and logged. His only flaw and this is it. Recently he had been bucking going into canter. We have had his saddle checked and also had his Physio out. He was sore in his Sacrioliac area and he is being treated. He only bucks once or twice going into the canter and then once his rhythm is established. you could drop your reins and ride one handed. He has had three months off to rest and because of Lock down. With gentle exercise. We have started building his back up again.
He has been lightly shown in the past and excelled. He is so good. a young child could lead him round in Best Turnout. He is exceptionally well behaved and always comes away with a ribbon or two.
He would suit an older person who has perhaps been out of the game a while and is looking to introduce herself back into horses again. A younger person who has perhaps lost their confidence and is just happy to go at a slower pace and build her confidence up.
Please no Show jumpers, Fearless young riders who think they can sit anything and want to go galloping across the countryside. Riders who dont know the difference between a horse working properly through his back and one whose head looks pretty in the current outline fad. I can teach you the difference if you do not know. it is hard to differentiate to an untrained eye. Please be honest about your abilities. Nando knows the difference between confident but poor and humble and good. He is a sensitive ride. forward, but not push button. Hacks out alone or in company. though in company he can get strong as he feels the need to protect his mates from danger. He gets his confidence from his rider.
My yard is a lovely place. the stables are in seperate blocks of five and eight. We have a floodlit arena, showjumps and poles. We have a seperate lunge pen and fields galore. our hacking is lovely. We have a road hack with a nice stream where the horses go for a wade and a cool down. We have local woods. the main track is hard during the summer and not suitable for Canter work. becoming softer in the Autumn. It is more suited then. across a busy road. we have a second patch of woods. often I head in here with Nando and we go exploring off road. you do have a fair share of ditches to jump dependent where you go. Nando, nor am I keen on these ditches but we have to jump them so we do. He will hesitate and then eventually cat leap as though there are crocodiles snapping at his heels. We have a manor house and a large estate we can also hack around. there are softer bridleways on the estate.
I would be open to his loaner taking him to in hand shows. The cost is the Loaners responsibility. every one he has attended. He has come away with ribbons. He does have sweet itch so doesn't have the full on classic Friesian mane so many admire in our breed but since his medication and treatments. we have managed to salvage some sort of mane. and long, flowing tail.
On the days. You wish to take him on. Nando is your responsibility. You catch him, ride him, groom him, rug him. Muck him out if he is stabled. Grab him in from the field if he is living out. You make his dinners, he will be on hay nets come winter. and these will be readily made up.
Financial contribution required. £10 a day.
He is stabled at Emsworth. 10 minutes from Chichester, 15 minutes from Portsmouth. My yard is a 15 minute walk from the train station or nearest bus route from the cities and towns.
I have got so many pictures of him. please feel free to ask.
