Recently a lady came to view him & for almost 2hrs she tried out all the usual activities to test him out & he was so good. We tacked him up with no issues & I made her aware the saddle was not his usual & that he had been out of work. She got on him to walk & slow trot but then asked him to canter uphill, & away from his field mate, which of course made him buck. This wont put the right person off - Most horses would do the same in the same position - I am aware that to gain confidence in him, if you cannot do it yourself, you may want to hire someone for a few weeks, so his reduced price of £6250ono (instead of £7500) reflects this. Offers are also welcome for the right home.
He is a wide weight-carrier, great for all the family & moves very well. Once he's tidied back up, & lost a little extra weight that comes from spending a year mostly out of the saddle, he will do you proud.
He has a small 'scratch' scar on his left cheek which can be seen in the vids/photos. He forms bonds with both horse & human quickly & thrives on fuss & attention. He can be pushy with food, & if he thinks he can get away with it can be slow-going at first at times but then responds well to voice & leg.
He's easy to brush, comb & wash, & mostly easy to lead & lunge (he doesn't like working clockwise although he will & he can be slightly stubborn leaving his field mate). He is used to farm animals, vehicles, & other people but hasnt been on the road (or shoed) for 4.5 years as I have ridden him on our farm. He needs a farrier who puts confidence in him as he doesnt like the tools (he is fine with his feet being picked up & cleaned otherwise.).
He's a wonderful horse but he needs somewhere to be worked & loved instead of being a field ornament here.
