As most people are aware, drink driving laws are measured very closely, the same goes for drink riding.

A woman, 51, from Queensland has been charged after riding her horse from home to a pub in Brisbane South, on the 4th June. The woman who rode her horse to her local pub was four times over the legal alcohol limit.

    Police
were called to the scene on Wembley Road in Logan Central at around 11:30pm. The woman then attempted to ride her horse through a drive through section and refused to leave the premises.

The woman was drunk and disorderly, drinking from a bottle of wine whilst riding the horse she was then arrested, and gave a blood - alcohol reading of 0.226%

A spokesman for Queensland police said the woman appeared “heavily intoxicated.”

The woman was charged with being in charge of a horse whilst under the influence of alcohol. She is expected to appear in court on June 26th in Beenleigh Magistrates Court. The charges relate to the riding of a horse in a ‘road - related area’ whilst under the influence of alcohol.

The horse was walked back to the police station where council workers helped transport the horse back to the property that was around six kilometers away in the suburb of Masden.
