On the 19th May 2018, the royal wedding had the whole world watching. It was a big day for everyone, including the horses who were involved in making the special day even more spectacular.

The stunning horses and carriage awaited the newlywed couple, to ride them through Windsor, after the procession. An extremely memorable moment for all spectators.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: “Prince Harry and Ms Markle are very much looking forward to this short journey which they hope will be a memorable moment for everyone who has gathered together in Windsor to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day.”

The horses featured in the procession received plenty of grooming sessions and rehearsal runs.

Taking center stage was father and son equine duo, Storm and Tyrone, along with Milford Haven and Plymouth, who pulled the carriage around the town center of Windsor. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's carriage ride was also assisted by two outriders named Sir Basil and Londonderry.

"They will be just a short distance in front of the carriage itself and of course in front of them and behind the carriage will be the Household Cavalry traveling escort."

A horseback rider sat on one of the leading horses, drove the carriage and another sat just behind on the second row.

Similar to previous royal weddings, the horses ‘wowed’ the audience.
Take a look as we go back in time to see the incredible array of horses involved in the royal processions.
