My wonderful gentle giant is looking for a new best friend

Genuine and sad sale of my lovely boy.

I have owned Otto since he was three years old, he was backed and produced by myself (small 5ft 4 lady rider so don’t let his height put you off). I can’t speak highly enough of him, he is a well mannered, quiet ride, that is more leg on than leg off.

Due to personal reasons and moving to a yard with no facilities the last 18 months Otto has mainly just been hacking out, he is happy to hack alone, or in company, front or back. He is good in traffic and also with people traffic that we encounter down our local bridle path. Previously to this move of yards Otto competed in dressage up to novice level scoring up to in the 70%s. He is excellently bred from a GP line of show jumpers and alap enjoyed his showjumping, jumping courses of up to around 3ft (I am not much of a jumper). He has done farm rides also. Basically a little bit of everything. He was schooled to a good level, working laterally and also able to give flying changes.

He is excellent to handle on the ground, very quiet, loves people. Always good to catch, good to clip and travels well in a horse box, but doesn’t like trailers. He is up to date with teeth and vaccinations also. At the moment he lives out in summer, in at night through winter. He is happy in, or out and does not change in any way if he needs to stay in for a few days. He is the kind of horse that can be left for a couple of weeks and just hopped back on. I really can’t speak highly enough of him.

Otto naturally turns out with his off rear leg meaning he moves slightly not straight. This has never affected him, his work, or caused him any issues, but this is reflected in his price and for that reason he wouldn’t be ideal for showing.

Only for sale due to personal reasons, meaning he’s being wasted when he’s in his prime. All homes will be vetted, I’d love for him to go for a forever home where he will be someone’s best friend.
