Mercedes Atego 2002 (52 reg)

Originally a John Lewis delivery vehicle, it has covered 298,000 km (185,000 miles) and has been well maintained.  MOT until August 2021 and given an oil service in August also. The batteries were replaced in February and it has an isolator switch. Very easy to drive with power steering, 5 speed manual, fully adjustable steering wheel position and active suspension driver's seat (can be switched off).  Between 1998 and 2004 Mercedes sold 170,000 Ategos, it was a big success and won International Truck of the year 1999. The engine is a 4.3 turbo diesel and manages hills with no problems. For safety I have replaced the rear lights with LED lights as they are much brighter and I have replaced the hydraulic ram so the speed of the ramp can be adjusted to suit your horse. Rear air suspension so the ramp has a gradual incline which really helps loading and unloading.

The net weight is 6 tonnes and has only been used with one horse but can fit 2 large horses or 3 ponies if required. The partitions are padded and adjustable. The living area includes a toilet, a kitchen, a double bed, seating area (which can also turn into a bed), gas hob and sink. There is a large rug storage area and horse shower. It also has a tilt cab, electric passenger window, dab radio with Bluetooth and TV.

Based in West Sussex, very reluctant sale due to purchase of a newer Mercedes. Private plate not included, £14,000 no VAT.
