Jess has an absoloute heart of gold, she'll do anything you ask of her and does not have a malicious bone in her body.
She is lightly backed in walk and trot on the lead rein, due to her size we haven't done any more than this as this is probably the limit with the size of rider she will be having on her! Rider is my 3/3.5stone 5yo boy. I personally wouldn't put much more weight than 6-7 stone on her as she is so slight.
She has been to 2 shows, her first in a large indoor arena inhand and was immaculately behaved. Her 2nd show was a very large show on grass with large rings, tents, speakers.. the lot, and did her 1st ridden class after being backed for just a week. Again she was PERFECT. Her first proper long trot being in the show piece which again you would not have believed she had been backed for such a short time.
She then waited at the lorry or the ringside all day patiently, not buddy sour at all to the pony she travelled with, and was fine with children running round her playing games. Loads and travels absoloutely perfectly. (Only travelled her personally in lorries but can't imagine any different in a trailer).
On the yard she is easy, she wonders the yard with an open stable as she's so little she can't see over the tall door so I feel a little mean shutting her in!
Her one and only downside is still a little nervous to handle, but only in the respect of she'll clamp her tail and tuck in her bum if she's feeling a bit worried, or will scuttle away if a child comes running at her. Never kicked, bitten or barged. She's the sort that'll let you do anything with a worried expression over making any sort of fuss. Her bravery is improving daily however, so in a long term home it won't be long before she's standing half asleep to be cuddled.
Will happily live out all year round if needed, has very little feed (happy hoof and pony nuts so she isn't left out) and nice solid little feet....Read full description
