    1. How To Measure Your Horse For A Rug

    Horse rugs on ESS

Every new horse owner will need to buy rugs, but there’s so many different types and sizes! With such a huge variety on offer, it’s easy to wonder: what horse rugs do we really need? And how do we measure our horse for a rug?

An ill fitted rug will not only look strange but will also be very uncomfortable for your horse. Too big and it’ll rub and chafe, causing pressure on the chest and issues of slippage. Too small and it will dig in, causing a lot of discomfort. It’s important you get this right!

We’ve collated a guide to help you out when ordering a new rug, so you can find the perfect fit for your horse…Read more.

    2. How To Take Care Of Your Boots

    Boots on ESS

When you’re working around the yard, there’s no doubt that you’ll come into contact with a lot of dirt. That can cause damage to a pair of boots if not cleaned properly. And, seeing as your riding boots are an investment, you won’t want them to get worn and fall apart straight away. Riding boot care is essential.

As with all of your riding gear, the more you take care of your boots, the longer they’ll last. So, you have to be prepared to put in the time and effort to ensure that you clean and maintain your boots properly. If not, the leather can dry out until it eventually cracks and falls to pieces. This leaves you in need of another pair, costing yet more money!

We’ve written a guide to help you prolong the life of your boots, through cleaning, conditioning, and preserving.  Read more.
