I am looking for the perfect partner for my special 11 year old registered Welsh Cob gelding. I have owned him since he was 8 months old when he was bought to be a companion to my foal. He was professionally broken at 5 years old but due to my health issues was only ridden occasionally so he is very low mileage. Since I am no longer riding he has been turned away for the last 2 years, so I have finally made the reluctant decision to sell him to give him the chance to realise his potential.
He has been brought back into work over the last 3 months with a British Horse Society Instructor and has responded beautifully to careful training underlined by natural horsemanship principles and has made remarkable progress as he is very quick to learn. He is a good all-rounder and would make an excellent riding club horse. He is very responsive to the aids, is snaffle-mouthed but has also been ridden bitless, works in an outline and is calm coming into jumps and riding away after them. He hacks out well in company but can become anxious going out on his own when he is not so brave.
He has no stable vices and is good to catch, clip, load into a trailer (never tried a horsebox), handle and shoe. He has no health issues, has never been lame and is open to the vet. He is fully vaccinated.
I am looking for a 5* permanent home for him where there will be other horses for him to interact with and where he will be turned out daily to ensure as natural a lifestyle as possible.
He needs a patient, educated, balanced rider, who understands how horses learn and who is willing to meet his needs. Someone who would be willing to continue his education in natural horsemanship and who is fairly local to the North of England would be ideal. The right person will find their horse of a lifetime....Read full description
