Horses for Loan£ 2,500 ONO9 yrs 11 mthsFleabitten Grey
Has been previously up for sale in September 2020. Previously advertised as a fun alrounder enjoying to show jump and cross country and do the dressage when she has to! After a busy few weeks of viewings and alot of jumping Chenoa started to look a bit stiff coming out of the stable and a little uncomfortable in herself. Typically this was two days before being vetted. We decided to give her a few days box rest and a quiet few days work before rescheduling her vetting. Unfortunately all agreed she was not right and took her off the market for some proper rest. We have concluded that she was suffering from a fair amount of concussion - her high knee action and our slight over excitement at getting her out and about after the first lockdown ment we ran her on some hard ground when perhaps we shouldn't have done!
The lovely lady that had her vetted had absolutely no interest in jumping her and it was so lovely to watch them work when she came to try her. I didnt realise they were going to get on so well.
To give you an idea of who we think Chenoa would best enjoy. She was a 60yr old, smaller lady rider who was looking for something fundermentally safe, but forwards. Physically couldn't have coped with more of a kick along or something heavy in the rein so enjoyed how light in the mouth and forwards off the leg and seat Chenoa is. She's forwards but can't ever imagine a situation where she'd do anymore than that. Buck/ bolt/ rear etc.
She can be a bit impatient at the mountain block, marches like a solider in a rush out hacking but enjoys working and wants to be doing.
Really reliable out hacking, fast traffic etc trustworthy enough to send off with the kids on their own. Not fussed whether front or back of a group.
Schooling in a straight, nylon bit on the flat. SJ XC in a simple gag/ universal type, on either the big ring or one down. Easy enough in the rein on the flat for the kids here to work roughly on the bit. Canter still needs to most work. Benefitted from canter work on the lunge in pessoa etc.
Teeth to be done this coming week, shoes (just shod in front) in two. Vaccinations in date.
Have tried to find some pretty flatwork pictures but all looking very foggy or wet! Enjoy some pictures of her flying around the ODEs that she completed with some of the girls on the yard. Hopefully they show a bit of her lovely happy personality and I can forward lots of flatwork videos to you if the advert sounds like it might suit you!...Read full description
