12.2hh Welsh x Connemara Gelding
Extremely sad sale of this adorable pony. He is the perfect 2nd pony – we have had him for 2 years and in that time he has done 2 camps, rallies, lessons, SJ, dressage, fancy dress, pub rides and hacking. With his previous pony club home he also tried pony racing.
Teddy is fantastic to handle, my 8 year old daughter does everything with him - picking out feet, tacking him up, loading (he loads himself because he loves going out!). He loves being groomed, plaited, cuddled and fussed and he comes to call from the field. He is great to clip, pull and for the farrier – he has been barefoot the whole time we have owned him. He does not need riding every day and often gets ridden at weekends only.
Teddy has a bold scopey jump, he is responsive to the leg and has 3 balanced paces. He hacks alone and in company, will trot and canter through the fields and has brakes to stop (always snaffle mouthed).
He has never been ill, he survives on grass and hay, is happy to live in or out with mares or geldings, is up to date with vaccinations (has just been done on 6 months so he can complete at any venue), teeth and worming.
Despite being a unicorn, he does have some pony tendancies:
He is a mud monster, if you bath him the night before he will not be clean in the morning!
He is not a fan of the combine, double decker or fast tractors, all of which we have around our lanes. He is absolutely fine with cars, bikes, vans etc and this has never been a problem for us, if you can tuck in a gateway he is fine.
He can be impatient and likes to be first off the lorry. I have 2 girls so most of the time Teddy will travel with a friend and he does not like to be left on the lorry on his own (if he travels on his own this is not an issue). If he has to wait for too long at the start of a lesson or arriving at a show he prefers to be walking.
He loves to lick you, but very occasionaly he will nibble – we don’t very often give him treats as we find this encourages him!
Teddy has a huge personality for such a little pony and has been a massive member of our family. He was in a very competitive home before ours and stepped back a level to help my 7 year old who had just come off her first pony. He is not a lead rein pony as he is way too capable for this.
Genuine reason for this very sad sale so please no timewasters. A 5* home for this special boy is essential. Lots of photos and videos available on request.
Teddy will come with his tack and full wardrobe. References available.
