Looking for an experienced and confident rider to loan Diamond 3 days per week, share care responsibilities and take her out to compete. The right person will have a confident and quiet seat, will be experienced, reliable, dedicated, responsible and disciplined. Ideally looking for a young adult or an older teen.
This is not a horse for a learner!
Diamond is a 10 year old 15.2hh thoroughbred/Appaloosa mare with character and plenty of scope! She is a stunning, quick and strong mare with a powerful jump.
She is very affectionate but a strong willed and smart mare. She can be stroppy, frisky and temperamental when in season so needs a confident and experienced rider who has a calm, positive yet firm approach to overcome this if and when she feels moody. Generally a very good girl who loves what she does! For an experienced and balanced rider this horse will be pretty straight forward once you get to know her character.
Diamond has competed with my daughter in various affiliated and non-affiliated events in BSJ (up to 100), BD, including NSEA and Pony Club events and is BS registered.
Diamond is mainly a show-jumper and clears up to 1m20 with ease. She has a strong floaty jump and plenty of scope for progress in the right partnership. She is very speedy and strong, and loves what she does. She is also a good hacker - alone and in company, and is comfortable on the road. Her dressage requires more work but she enjoys flatwork and performs well. XC training can also be an option for Diamond - something she tried before briefly and enjoyed.
She loads and travels well.
We are looking for someone local to Colchester who will come in and treat Diamond as their own 3 times a week to help my daughter while she is studying, make use of her talents and take her out to compete with my daughter or alone. The facilities on the yard include an outdoor manège and a hacking orchard. Further hacking is available locally.
The schooling we are looking for is an 1 hour plus 20 mins warmup/cool-down and alternating flatwork and jumping routines on your days. There are instructors on the yard if you would like to take lessons.
Yard duties contribution required which involves mucking out Diamond’s stable, making feeds and hay nets, as well as clearing a part of her field once a week.
Although Diamond is fully insured, the rider needs to have their own Personal Accident & Third Party (legal liability) cover.
