Description

16.2 ISH Gelding

I have owned Boe since 2016, due to University commitments he has been on loan with the same family for the past 4 years.

-

Boe was made for the hunt field. He has a clear love for it and this is where he is most happy. He hunted intermittently (due to lack of transport) for his first 4 seasons, and regularly for the past 4 seasons with the York North and West of Yore.

He has hunted with a few different riders (including competent, but nervous riders) and has given them all a great time. Goes anywhere in the field, especially likes to be up at the business end. Good with the hounds and stands for gates, also doesn’t mind being sandwiched between other horses - he’s very friendly. Able to navigate different terrains well and crosses rivers sensibly. Happy to jump anything in front of him - hedges, rails, gates, fences, ditches etc… He is hunted in a gag as a precaution, but is snaffle mouthed for everything else.

-

Boe is good to hack alone and in company. Can lead and be led from another. Great in all traffic - motorbikes and bin lorries don’t bother him. Done plenty of fun rides, lessons, clinics, and SJ/XC schooling. He has been to the beach and is happy to go for a wade in the sea. Loads and travels well by trailer, 3.5t, and 7.5t wagons.

-

Boe has a great jump, he is careful and has schooled up to 1m25 easily. Since being in his loan home has lost some confidence with jump poles, so needs a confident rider to encourage him. He has competed at low levels over the years: show jumping, one day events, dressage, etc. However, he has never really taken to the competition environment and is much happier on the hunt field or schooling with friends.

-

Doesn’t require exercise every day and can be left for long periods without becoming silly. He is a great field mate and goes out with mares and geldings.

Good to groom/bath and for the farrier. Can be hogged without but is sedated to clip. He’s fine with the vet provided they don’t faff about. Annual dentals also under sedation as that is what our EDT does for all his patients, in the past he has been done without. Shod, wormed, and vaccinated up-to-date.

-

Boe is a very eye-catching horse with an amazing presence, I have received many compliments for his looks and character.

He is very dear to me and I am keen for him to go to someone who will enjoy all he has to offer.

Comes with tack (saddle and 2 bridles) and rugs
