ONE IN A TRILLION!
Dancer is a full up 14.2hh, Welsh D mare (she is not mareish at all though) and is a very kind, wise and sensible mare - she is extremely well behaved and not at all like your typical chestnut mare or welsh cob!
She’s only looking for her new home/long term loan home due to a sad change of circumstances - she’s been much loved in her current home of 16 years.
Dancer would be great for someone who’s learning to walk/trot on the lead rein and do mounted games on the lead rein, or for someone more experienced to have fun schooling and hacking her and doing sponsored/fun rides, Le TREC or natural horsemanship.
She’s a forward going, responsive ride yet is snaffle mouthed and really enjoys her work. She really is bombproof - nothing phases her!
She isn’t a novice ride or suitable for someone who’s learning to trot or canter off the lead rein as she’s forward and quite sensitive to your seat and leg aids, but for a more experienced rider or someone on the lead rein she’d be great as she’s forward but responsive, bombproof and snaffle mouthed.
She’s the safest pony but most fun pony you’ll ever find!
She won’t buck, rear, nap or bolt and even stood quietly whilst the whole hunt cantered by (I have videos of this in the YouTube video below).
She’s extremely safe on the ground and under saddle - I trust her completely and have ridden her tackless.
A friend brought her puppy to see Dancer (who’d never seen a horse before) and he escaped and went a bit mad running around and trying to bite her back legs and she waited patiently until he’d been caught - she’s a real saint!
She hacks alone or in company, is the same in open spaces with strong winds as she is in an arena, she’s the same if she hasn’t been ridden in 10 days or if she’s been ridden the day before.
Easy to do in all ways : she’s good to shoe, clip, catch, have the dentist, load and travel in a horsebox and has no vices or quirks.
She can be lunged in a headcollar, without a whip and will go off your voice.
She loves mounted games and will stand calmly whilst the other horses are racing and cantering towards her but she’s responsive and will do a halt to canter if you ask her and she’s equally responsive with downwards transitions.
She’s good to school and we’re working on walk to canters, leg yield, shoulder in, rein back and medium trot.
She’s been out twice this year and done intro dressage (and the pony club equivalent) placing 1st and 2nd on both occasions with 69% and 77% and could have scored higher if the rider had been more accurate and if we didn’t have to go in and do the test straight away and actually had time to warm up before and didn’t get lost finding the venue!
She’s sound, fit and is as eager as ever despite being a golden oldie (she doesn’t require a joint supplement and doesn’t have any conditions, injuries, illnesses or ailments).
She will bring so much joy to her new loaners/owners ; she really is very, very special.
She’s based 10 minutes drive from Hook, Hampshire.
Ponies like this are very very, rare - everyone who’s met her wants her!
She’ll only go to a 5 star home that we have visited and approved, who’ll give us references, take excellent care of her and let us visit her regularly.
Riders for her must be 10 stone and under.
