Red is a super little pony, he has the heart of a lion and tries his best at whatever he is asked to do. He was broken by myself as a 5yr old. His flat work is well established, lovely rhythmic balanced paces, lateral work including changes, shoulder in/out, half pass and counter canter with a lovely medium trot. I have enjoyed teaching Red, he has a lovely teachable brain, we have even had a bash at canter pirouette which was fun! Although we do like our flat work I haven't competed Red in any dressage competitions, its just not a love of mine. I am sure he would get to a respectable level in this discipline.
Red has completed up to 85/90cms show jumping and up to 105cms at home with ease. Red has done XC and Derby schooling which he loves. Ditches, water, steps, its all great fun for him. The XC photos and XC video are of his first time out on the course this year, he was amazing! Jumping some big fences including a decent size Trakehner (nemesis of mine) and I could trust him to look after me.
Red's fab powerhouse confirmation would also make him a super working hunter type.
At home Red has really grown up over the last year, his manners are fab, he lets my two children wash him down, pick feet and lead him around but still has a lovely pony personality, he loves a fuss and treats! My daughter has trotted him round a 50cm SJ course and he was really sweet.
Red will hack alone, in company, front or back and I also lead my daughter on a smaller pony from him. My son rides his scooter out with us going up and down past us and doesn't bat an eyelid. Red is used to large farm machinery, cars, cows etc.
Red perfect partner would be confident and competitive, a good little rider will have super fun with him (I know I have) he has such an exciting future ahead of him.
As well as all this Red is very cheap to keep! Barefoot, great teeth and strong back, he lives off fresh air.
