Create my profile now!It is that time of year again, where the UK decides to try and keep up with the baltic temperatures of Antartica. With this in mind, I always seem to find myself trying to find the best and warmest layers – without making myself look like a model for a Michelin advert – whilst also delving into the world of socks in an attempt to find a pair that will allow me to have some feeling left in my toes after each ride.
Like me, you may find that you regularly end up with numb toes throughout the winter months, whether it be from a long hack or just doing your general yard duties. Each year, I try out different brands and types of socks in the hope that they will somehow stop this from happening. This year, I think I may have just found what I was looking for.
The LeMieux Footsie Socks are designed with comfort in mind; the padded sole provides a soft cushion, while the elasticated sections around the foot give stability and support for the rider. Extra padded protection around the ankle area prevents pressure points under the boot, and as they have been made from a moisture wicking yarn, the footsie will keep your feet comfortable all year round, not just in winter. With the added benefit of an ultra thin calf, the sock allows for a close feel without any extra bulk under your boot, yet still remains supportive to prevent any slipping. They also come in an abundance of fun and funky patterns to suit everyones tastes!
Having worn several pairs for the last few days, both as a general day-to-day sock and whilst riding, I have been very impressed with how warm and dry my feet have stayed. I could comfortably say that they are the best pair of socks I have purchased to date and I am already eyeing up which patterns I can buy next (or perhaps, if I ask Father Christmas nicely, he may put some under the tree for me this year)! For anyone deliberating buying a pair, I would definitely say that you won’t regret it – I certainly haven’t!
